If you are using Opera web browser and want to integrate Internet Download Manager (IDM) software with Opera, this tutorial will help you.

When you install IDM in your computer, it automatically integrates itself with popular web browsers by installing its extension called "IDM Integration Module" in those browsers.

But IDM doesn't install its extension in Opera, so Opera users face IDM integration issues. To be able to use IDM with Opera, you'll need to manually integrate IDM with Opera. You'll need to manually install its "IDM Integration Module" extension in Opera and then you'll be able to download files using IDM in Opera.

Following steps will help you in integrating IDM with Opera:

NOTE: The following steps will also work for integrating IDM with Vivaldi browser.

1. First of all make sure that you are using the latest version of IDM in your computer. Open IDM and click on "Help -> Check for updates"option. If you are using latest IDM version, it'll show "You are using the latest version of Internet Download Manager. Please check back again for updates at a later time." message. If you are using an older version, it'll start downloading and installing the latest version and will update your IDM to the latest version.

Upgrading IDM to the latest version may fix the integration issue and all kind of error messages as IDM team fixes known issues in newer versions automatically. Updating to latest IDM version may also fix compatibility issues as newer IDM versions come with support for new web browsers as well as newer versions of all popular web browsers.

Once you update IDM to latest version, it may also install the missing IDM Integration Module extension automatically which will integrate IDM in your browser.

2. Now open IDM Options window and make sure the "Use advanced browser integration" option is enabled and Opera is enabled under "Capture downloads from the following browsers" list as mentioned in following tutorial:

4. Now open Windows Explorer (or File Explorer/This PC/Computer) and go to following folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Download Manager

5. Look for IDMGCExt.crx or IDMGCExt file.

6. Click on the IDMGCExt file and drag-n-drop the file on Opera's extensions page.

Opera will show you a confirmation message that IDM Integration Module extension was added from outside the official add-ons website and it requires some permissions.

Click on "Yes, install" button.

That's it. It'll immediately add IDM extension in Opera and you'll be able to use IDM in Opera.
